An age-proof CV

Recruiters often skim the first half page. Put the last 10 to 15 years of relevant work there, with results. Older roles can be a line each, or grouped under Earlier career.
You do not have to put your date of birth, a photograph, or the year you graduated on a UK CV. Acas says a hiring decision must not be influenced by age.

How to cut a long career down to two pages
- Pick the target role. Write the title you want now, not every title you have held.
- Keep recent proof. For the last few roles, use two or three lines each: what you did, and what changed.
- Collapse the rest. Roles that are old or unrelated become one line: title, employer, years.
- Remove age signals you do not need. Take off date of birth, marital status, a photo, and 'over 30 years' experience' as a boast. The dates of recent jobs are enough.

Two lines: the kind of role, the sector, and one strength a hiring manager can test. Skip 'dynamic senior professional'.

Questions
Will employers know my age from job dates?
They may estimate it. You still do not have to print your age. The recent work is what you want them to read first.
Should I go back to the 1990s in detail?
Only if that work is the evidence for this role. Otherwise one line is enough.
Is it legal for an advert to say 'recent graduate'?
Acas says phrases such as 'recent graduate' or 'highly experienced' can discriminate by age unless the employer can show a good reason. You can ask about the real requirement.
