How to spot fake job ads and ghost jobs in the UK (2026)

A ghost job is a posting with little or no real intent to hire. Some collect CVs for later. Some were filled and left online. The cost lands on you: hours spent on an application that was never going anywhere. This check will not catch every fake listing. It shows the signs it found, and it tells you when it found nothing strong.
