Help for graduates

By Nancy Osazee, Founder. Checked 10 October 2026.

A graduate job on CareerPilot is a title that says graduate or grad scheme. A junior title without those words is not added. Leeds, Sheffield, York, Bradford, and Huddersfield have their own graduate pages.

The Graduate visa is a different thing. It is permission to stay after a UK course, described on GOV.UK. It is not a job offer and not a graduate scheme.

  • A graduate CV when you have no job yet

No professional job is not an empty CV. A module project, a society role, shop work, caring, and a dissertation method are all evidence if you write what you did.

  • Assessment centre checklist

An assessment centre is a set of exercises on one day, or online. Not every employer uses one. Read the invitation. It should say which exercises you will do.

  • Graduate schemes and direct entry

A graduate scheme is the employer's own programme: often a fixed intake, rotations, and a closing date. Direct entry is a normal job that a graduate can do, hired when the team needs someone.

  • First job checklist

An offer is a set of terms, not only a congratulation. Before you accept, know the pay, the hours, the place, the start date, and whether the contract is permanent, fixed-term, or a scheme.

What if I have no experience?

Use the graduate CV page. A project, a society, or a shop job can fill a page if you write what you did.

Do all schemes use an assessment centre?

No. Prepare the exercises this employer listed in the invitation.

Where are the jobs?

On the graduate jobs page, and on the city pages linked there.
