About the Role
Pearson is looking for a Digital Processing Team Manager to join UK PQS at
Hellaby. You will manage a small permanent team and help ensure operational
areas are ready to receive, process, store and reconcile examination material
securely and to demanding service levels.
The role spans people management, planning, customer service, management
information and quality. During peak summer production you will also support the
wider Digital Processing operation across shift patterns, helping teams stay
staffed, controlled and on schedule.
This is an on-site role for someone comfortable in a regulated, deadline-driven
environment where priorities and volumes change through the year.
What You’ll Do
• Lead and develop permanent and temporary staff, balancing workloads across
examination cycles.
• Plan staffing and operational readiness across warehouse, library and
reconciliation processing.
• Manage receipt, preparation, scanning, exception processing and post-results
activity in line with agreed service levels.
• Use management information to track progress, staffing requirements, work
rates and expenditure.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers and
maintain clear communication channels.
• Lead continuous improvement, lessons-learnt activity and practical
problem-solving.
• Maintain secure, controlled processes and resolve quality or audit actions.
• Support wider Digital Processing shifts and other operational teams when peak
priorities require it.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience leading people, activities or projects in an operational
environment.
• Strong planning skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks
to tight deadlines.
• Experience managing people, or credible team-lead experience with clear
leadership responsibility.
• Confidence making fact-based decisions under time pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and customer-facing communication skills.
• Experience interpreting data and using it to support operational decisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including more complex Excel functions,
and the ability to learn multiple software packages quickly.
• Experience working in education, a quality-certified environment, and change
management, as set out in the role specification.
• Five GCSEs at A*-C including English and Mathematics, plus a professional
management qualification.
Location & Working Pattern
Hellaby, Fretwell Road, Rotherham S66 8HN. This is a permanent, full-time,
onsite role working 37.5 hours per week. Peak summer production includes shift
working across days, afternoons or nights, with some weekend and bank-holiday
work. Exact peak shift hours will be discussed during interview.
Why Join Pearson?

operational leadership directly supports the secure delivery of examination
activity. Pearson offers a supportive environment, 25 days’ starting holiday
plus UK public holidays, pension, family leave, wellbeing support and a range of
