Oceaneering are proud of the apprenticeship program that has been running for over 25 years, we have successfully trained, mentored and secured placements for our apprentices on major capital projects throughout the world. Our apprentices have gone on to achieve great things and hold key positions within Oceaneering and the wider industry. Such positions as, Senior Operations Managers, Supervisors, UKAS inspection engineers, senior NDT Technicians to name a few.  RESPONSIBILITIES The Oceaneering apprenticeship is a three year program and is predominantly site based and is in line with operational requirements, Oceaneering have our own accredited training center, apprenticed will be released from work to attend the training center to carry NDT training. The training durations vary dependent on the NDT discipline and level to be achieved, see below structured training throughout the three years. Year 1. * 0 to 6 months. Work on site gaining knowledge of NDT and site inspection work scope . * 6 month. DPI or MPI L2 Training, 1 week duration.  * 6 – 9 months Work on site / mentoring in qualifications gained. * 9 month. DPI or MPI L2 Training, 1 week duration. * 9 month to 12 month. Work on site / mentoring in qualifications gained.   Year 2   * 12 month. UT Level 1 Thickness and Lamination Training, 1 week duration.  * 12 months to 18 months, assisting UT technician / Mentoring. * 18 month UT L2 Thickness Lamination and Corrosion Monitoring, 1 week duration.  * 18 to 24 month. Work on site / mentoring in qualifications gained.   Year 3 * 24 month. RT Level 1 Training, 2 weeks duration.  * 24 to 30 months. Work on site / mentoring in qualifications gained. * 30 month, RT L2 Training with interpretation and Basic Radiation duration, 3 weeks duration + exam 3 days.  * 30 to 36 months. Work on site / mentoring in qualifications gained. * 36 month. Radiation Protection Supervisor training  Training will be provided in house at our industry recognized training schools, resulting in nationally recognised qualifications in the following methods: UT • Ultrasonic testing level 1 and 2. MPI • Magnetic particle inspection level 2 LPI • Liquid penetrant inspection level 2.  RT – Radiography level 1 and 2, with Basic Radiation Safety and Radiation Protection Supervisor   Additional training may be provided based on work requirement. Rope Access – IRATA L1 HT – Hardness Testing PMI – Positive Material Identification   The role: • Assisting level 2 Technicians in their everyday jobs, such as helping with testing. • Maintaining the work area and equipment that is not in use.  • Completing reports and keeping up to date training records. • Making sure calibration logs are filled in and kept up to date. • Locating work and preparing the next job for the level 2 Technicians. • Loading and unloading workstations.  • Working at local branch, plus site locations around the UK.  • Work activities will require flexible working covering days, nights, and weekends as and when required.  • Completing inspections in line with Qualifications and competencies. QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required. • A strong interest in NDT techniques and a desire to learn and grow in the field. • Basic knowledge of NDT principles is preferred but not mandatory. • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information and ideas clearly. • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in performing inspections and data recording. • Willingness to undergo training and continuous learning to enhance NDT skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications. • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as required. Skills required: • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. • Good organisational skills.  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Being able to keep to deadlines and plan appropriately. • Good time keeping. • Ability to follow instruction. • Ability to work consistently during high pressure periods. • Methodical approach to all tasks undertaken.    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics • Knowledge of welding / engineering preferred but not essential.     How to Apply: We offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to advance in an international company.
