The Role
As a Cloud Engineer, you’ll be a forefront of enabling secure, scalable and
mission-critical cloud capabilities within our Cloud Engineering team providing
critical support across public, private or hybrid environments.
Day-to-day, you’ll work collaboratively with engineering teams to design,
deploy, and automate solutions that help deliver next-generation services across
complex operational environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Building and configuring cloud services to meet business and application
requirements
• Monitoring cloud environments for performance, availability, cost
optimisation, and security compliance
• Developing and maintaining infrastructure as Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates
• Automating deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows to improve efficiency and
reduce manual intervention
• Implementing and enforcing cloud security best practices, including identity
and access management, encryption and network security
• Working closely with development, operations, and security teams to enable
smooth application deployments
Essential experience of the Cloud Engineer:
• Previous experience in designing, deploying, and managing solutions in AWS
• Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools
• Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, VPN, load balancers, firewalls,
routing)
• Strong familiarity with AWS services
Essential qualifications for the Cloud Engineer:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering,
or a related field (or equivalent experience)

This role is 37 hours per week based at either our Malvern or Farnborough site
with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
Malvern
The Malvern facility is noted for its work in electronic warfare, surveillance
and complex system integration, contributing significantly to the UK’s defence
capabilities. Developing technologies for military and civilian applications,
including sensors, communications and cyber security.
