We are looking for a talented Environmental Strategy Manager to join our team in Environment for Cummins Daventry, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: • Lead regulatory sensing and analysis for assigned environmental and product non-emissions regulatory areas, interpreting complex technical, legal, and regulatory documents and translating requirements into clear guidance for the business. • Anticipate emerging regulatory developments, assess their technical, commercial, and strategic impacts, and provide actionable recommendations to leaders, technical experts, and product teams to manage risks and opportunities. • Develop and lead company regulatory positions and advocacy strategies, defining engagement objectives, timelines, key messages, external partners, and actions required to influence emerging environmental and product regulations. • Lead cross-functional regulatory advocacy programs from inception through completion, partnering with Engineering, Compliance, Product, Legal, Government Relations, and other stakeholders to align positions and deliver agreed regulatory outcomes. • Build and maintain effective relationships with regulators, industry associations, customers, and other external stakeholders, representing company interests and communicating constructively across global markets and diverse audiences. • Develop and communicate regulatory intelligence, strategic recommendations, educational materials, and unified regulatory messages to internal stakeholders, ensuring complex environmental and regulatory topics are clearly understood. • Develop strategic frameworks and analyses that synthesize environmental data, stakeholder input, regulatory trends, risks, and opportunities to support business strategy, product planning, compliance activities, and informed decision-making. • Manage multiple cross-functional regulatory projects and continuous improvement initiatives, including project scope, timelines, risks, resources, tools, and processes, while identifying process gaps, implementing improvement plans, and sharing lessons learned across teams. RESPONSIBILITIES To be successful in this role you will need the following: • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional subject matter expert teams and projects, independently coordinating internal and external initiatives across organizational boundaries to achieve shared objectives. • Strong environmental acumen, with knowledge of environmental topics and trends related to air, exhaust, water, waste, sustainability, and/or materials, and the ability to assess environmental data and business impacts. • Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex and sometimes contradictory information, conduct gap analyses, benchmark current and desired states, and develop actionable recommendations and strategies. • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build partnerships, communicate effectively across organizational boundaries, and establish trust through integrity, authenticity, and transparent engagement. • Strong planning, project, and risk management skills, with the ability to prioritize work, manage project issues and risks, establish timelines, and deliver commitments aligned with organizational goals. • Ability to develop and improve systems and processes, using structured approaches to eliminate inefficiencies, address roadblocks, document workflows, and implement sustainable solutions that improve organizational effectiveness. QUALIFICATIONS Education/ Experience: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Policy, Law, Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related technical or scientific discipline; a Master’s or other advanced degree is preferred, with legal training or a legal background strongly preferred. • Demonstrated experience in environmental and/or regulatory policy, with a strong understanding of emerging product regulatory requirements and their implications for business and product strategies. • Proven experience leading global initiatives and cross-functional teams, working effectively across organizational boundaries and with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strategic regulatory outcomes. • Experience engaging with EU policymakers, trade associations, and industry groups is strongly preferred; previous experience in government, a trade association, or strategic regulatory development is an advantage. • Working knowledge of major EU materials and product regulatory frameworks, including EU POPs, REACH, RoHS, WEEE, ESPR, and the EU Battery Regulation, with experience partnering with in-house counsel to assess emerging product regulatory risks.
