A Day in the Life:
Manage the design and delivery of key components of Hertz’s franchise
performance management system, from scorecards and reporting to business-review
routines and improvement tools. Turn the agreed programme roadmap into practical
processes that make performance visible, consistent and actionable across the
franchise network.
Reporting to the Director, Performance Management Program, you will manage
implementation and recurring performance cycles, working with Franchisee
Business Partners, Operations, Data & Analytics, Technology, Finance and the
Franchise Transformation Office.
What You'll Do:
PROGRAMME DELIVERY AND IMPROVEMENT
• Manage assigned initiatives from requirements and design through piloting,
rollout and ongoing operation, with clear milestones, owners and
dependencies.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery, resolve working-level issues and
present risks, options and recommendations to the Director.
SCORECARDS AND MEASUREMENT
• Develop and maintain proposed KPI definitions, data sources, collection
schedules, thresholds, weightings and aggregation rules for review and
approval.
• Test measures against business priorities and data availability, ensuring
fair comparisons across locations, markets and franchisee types.
REPORTING AND BENCHMARKING
• Translate business needs into dashboard and reporting requirements;
coordinate development and user testing with the Digital Intelligence team.
• Manage reporting cycles, validate outputs with Finance and Operations, and
investigate data-quality issues before approved results are released.
REWARDS AND CORRECTIVE ACTION
• Develop practical processes and materials for approved recognition, coaching
and corrective-action mechanisms, aligned with the Director’s policy
framework.
• Coordinate recommendations and follow-up with Franchisee Business Partners to
escalate proposed consequences through agreed approval channels.
SCORING AND GOVERNANCE
• Manage the scoring and calibration process using approved methodologies;
prepare grades, rankings and supporting evidence for review and approval.
• Coordinate data corrections, exceptions and disputes; maintain decision
records and version control, escalating policy changes and material
judgements to the Director.
BUSINESS REVIEWS AND COACHING TOOLS
• Develop monthly check-in, quarterly business-review and annual planning
materials, including scorecards, profitability analyses, action plans and
follow-up templates.
• Work with Franchisee Business Partners to test and refine materials so they
support productive franchisee conversations and clear improvement
commitments.
INSIGHTS AND BEST PRACTICES
• Analyse performance drivers, root causes and market differences with
functional experts; translate findings into recommended interventions and
practical guidance.
• Track improvement outcomes and develop playbooks and examples that help
Franchisee Business Partners share successful practices across the network.
ADOPTION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
• Coordinate training, rollout communications and user support for dashboards,
scorecards and business-review routines.
• Gather feedback from users and franchisee representatives; monitor adoption
and impact, prioritise improvements and maintain programme documentation.
What We're Looking For:
* 5 – 10 years of relevant experience in performance management, business
intelligence, franchise or multi-site operations, or operational improvement.
• Hands-on experience implementing scorecards, KPI frameworks or management
reporting, including definitions, thresholds, weighting and governance.
• Strong analytical judgement and financial literacy, with the ability to
assess data quality, interpret operating performance and translate findings
into practical action.
• Experience defining dashboard requirements, testing reporting outputs and
working with data and technology teams; strong Excel and presentation skills.
• Experience developing business-review materials, coaching tools, action plans
or repeatable operating routines for field teams.
• Strong project management and stakeholder skills, with the ability to
coordinate functions and influence delivery without direct authority.
• Clear communication, sound judgement and attention to detail when handling
scoring decisions, sensitive information and franchisee concerns.
• Car-rental or franchise-sector experience is preferred; exposure to rewards,
recognition, corrective-action processes or programme adoption would be an
advantage.
