Liquid Personnel is recruiting an Adult's Social Worker (experienced Practice Supervisor) to join its client’s Home First team, based in Oxfordshire.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and registered Social Worker with advanced practice and supervisory experience to provide leadership, oversight, and professional support within a fast-paced Adult Social Care service.
The successful candidate will support high standards of social work practice, ensuring strengths-based, person-centred approaches are consistently applied to help adults maximise independence and achieve positive outcomes. Alongside managing complex casework, you will supervise practitioners, support performance and development, oversee safeguarding activity, and contribute to service improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who is passionate about developing others, driving best practice, and supporting safe and effective delivery of Adult Social Care services.
What will your responsibilities be?
Providing professional supervision, coaching, mentoring, and support to Social Workers, Adult Social Care practitioners, and students.
Promoting and maintaining high standards of practice across the Home First Team.
Managing and supporting complex casework, providing professional guidance and oversight where risks and decision-making are particularly challenging.
Undertaking Care Act 2014 assessments, reviews, and interventions where required.
Supporting strengths-based practice, ensuring all options including informal networks, community resources, equipment, reablement, and Occupational Therapy interventions are fully considered.
Completing and overseeing safeguarding enquiries in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and local safeguarding procedures.
Chairing Best Interest meetings, safeguarding strategy meetings, and other professional forums where required.
Undertaking Mental Capacity Assessments and supporting Best Interest decision-making in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 20

Acting as Safeguarding Manager for complex safeguarding enquiries where appropriate.
Carrying a reduced but complex caseload whilst supporting other team members with challenging cases.
Conducting case audits, quality assurance reviews, and practice observations to drive continuous improvement.
Supporting recruitment, induction, workforce development, and staff retention initiatives.
Managing allocations, supporting duty functions, and ensuring risks are prioritised appropriately across the team.
Supporting Court of Protection applications and reviewing court reports where required.
Working collaboratively with health professionals, Occupational Therapists, community services, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Contributing to service development, operational improvement, and performance management activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be successful in this role you must have;
Professional Qualification: Degree in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent recognised Social Work qualification.
Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
Experience: Significant post-qualified experience within Adult Social Care, including complex case management and supervisory responsibilities.
Leadership Experience: Proven experience supervising, mentoring, and developing practitioners within a statutory Adult Social Care setting.
Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 1983, Adult Safeguarding legislation, and associated statutory guidance.
Safeguarding Experience: Experience managing complex safeguarding enquiries and acting in a safeguarding leadership role.
Quality Assurance: Experience undertaking audits, case reviews, and performance management activity.
Court Experience: Experience supporting Court of Protection applications and legal processes is desirable.
Practice Development: Experience supporting learning, reflective practice, and continuous professional development.
Specialist Qualifications: Best Interest Assessor (BIA), Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), or Practice Educator qualification is desirable, or willingness to undertake further development.
Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, report-writing, and decision-making skills.
IT Skills: Strong working knowledge of Liquidlogic and Microsoft Office applications.
