Receptionist Wythenshawe Lifestyle Centre Permanent Full time £25477.60 Exempt from Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (RoA) No Barring Checks • Adult   & Child  Line Manager • Reception   Supervisor   Role Purpose To   provide a professional, customer-focused administration, reception and support service that contributes to the effective day-to-day operation of the Lifestyle Centre. Acting as a first point of contact for customers, visitors   and partners, the post holder will deliver a welcoming experience, respond to enquiries, maintain administrative systems and support centre activities. The role requires a flexible approach to meet the changing needs of the Centre and its users, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely and to a high standard while promoting customer satisfaction and supporting the smooth running of the Centre.   Key Responsibilities   Reception & Customer Service • Act as the main point of contact for visitors, customers and stakeholders, providing a welcoming and professional reception service. • Answer telephone, email and face-to-face enquiries in line with customer care standards. • Provide information on services, activities and facilities. • Manage customer expectations, resolve routine enquiries and escalate issues where appropriate. Cash Handling & Transaction Processing • Process customer payments, issue receipts and accurately record transactions in accordance with cash handling procedures. Administration & Information Management • Operate and maintain the Centre's computerised membership and booking systems, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date. • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and distribute correspondence appropriately. • Provide  administrative support to Centre management. • Assist with the preparation of reports, records and performance information.     Events & Operational Support • Support the planning and delivery of events, activities and room hire functions. • Work closely  with operational, facilities and catering teams to ensure successful service delivery. Reception & Facility Presentation • Ensure  reception and public-facing areas are clean, organised and maintained to a high standard at all times. Communication & Centre Knowledge • Maintain  awareness of daily centre activities, bookings, events and functions. • Provide  accurate and up-to-date information to customers and stakeholders.   Skills and Abilities    Customer Service & Communication • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide a welcoming and professional service to a diverse range of customers. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the  ability to deal confidently with enquiries and resolve issues  effectively. Administration & IT Skills • Good administrative and organisational skills, with the  ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records. • Competent in the use of computerised booking, membership and  database systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications. Cash Handling & Financial Administration • Accurate cash handling and financial administration skills. Teamwork & Independent Working • Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a busy, customer-focused environment. Organisation & Time Management • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise  workloads, meet deadlines and adapt to changing service requirements. Attention to Detail & Confidentiality • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Professionalism & Flexibility • Positive, professional and flexible approach to work. • Adaptable to changing priorities and operational needs. Equality, Diversity & Customer Care • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and  safeguarding principles. • Dedicated to delivering excellent customer care and  maintaining high service standards.   Experience and qualifications Essential • Experience   working in a reception, customer service, administration or front-of-house   environment.  • Experience   handling customer enquiries by telephone, email and face to face.  • Experience   processing payments and handling cash accurately.  • Experience   maintaining accurate records and using computerised systems.  • Experience   working in a customer-focused environment and delivering high standards of   service. • GCSE A-C   grade or equivalent in English & Maths • Good IT   Skills including Microsoft Office Applications Desirable • Experience  working within a community, leisure, housing or public service  environment.  • Experience  supporting events, room bookings or facility hire operations.  • First  Aid/Fire Safety/Manual Handling/Health & Safety/Safeguarding  Training  • Experience  using membership, booking or customer relationship management systems.  • Experience  producing reports and performance information.   Behaviours and Attitudes Empathy & Respect • Demonstrates compassion, understanding, and respect towards colleagues, customers, and community   members, particularly during periods of change. • Promotes an inclusive, welcoming environment where people feel valued, listened to, and supported. Our work is classified as Regulated Activity as defined in the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (SVGA).  This role will include regular contact with Children 121 or group setting.  This includes those that could be classified as vulnerable and both an understanding of and experience in adhering to UK safeguarding legislation is required.
