Responsibilities How you’ll make an impact in this role Diagnoses, repairs, upgrades, and calibrates complex electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems, with the specific ability to write, edit, and debug Siemens and Trane program code with minimal vendor guidance. Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance and diagnostics—including testing damper motors, checking wiring integrity, reviewing control sequences, and replacing faulty sensors—in accordance with hospital and industry standards. Analyzes system requirements, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to troubleshoot defects, handle overrides, resolve work orders, and ensure compliance with building, code, and safety standards. Performs system checkouts and leads automation system startups and commissioning for new or retrofitted building controls alongside in-house staff, contractors, vendors, and consulting engineers. Provides supervisory leadership to lower-level technicians and contractors, stands in for the Facilities Manager when absent, trains employees on fire and life safety systems, and maintains technical proficiency through continuous self-study. Qualifications What minimum requirements you’ll need Must have one or more of the following: Graduate of trade school High School Diploma or equivalent And one or more of the following: Relevant License and 3 years’ experience 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of license Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience
