We have a vacancy for a Full Time Permanent Family Finding Social Worker
On 01 April 2020, Blackpool Council and Lancashire County Council formed a
Regional Adoption Agency (RAA): Adoption Lancashire and Blackpool.
Lancashire County Council are the host authority for the RAA, which provides a
comprehensive service to families across the region.
The RAA delivers the following services on behalf of both of the partner Local
Authorities:
• Recruitment and Assessment of adopters
• Adoption Support
• Adoption panels
• Family finding and matching
Based centrally in Preston, but working flexibly to meet with families
throughout the region, our Social Workers undertake varied and interesting
casework whilst receiving all the support and comprehensive benefits that you
would expect when working for a Local Authority (including a very generous
annual leave package, competitive salary and enrolment in the Local Government
Pension Scheme).
If you're interested and want to know more, please have a look at the job
description attached.
Alternatively, for more information about the RAA and the part that you could
play in changing children's lives, please contact Amy Dove (Family Finding Team
Manager) on 07712414288 to have an informal chat.
Please ensure you have uploaded and attached your supporting statement to
evidence how you meet the criteria for the role. The panel may be unable to
shortlist you for interview without this evidence.
The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013). If successful you will be
required to apply to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) for a
'disclosure'. Further information can be found on the 'Our Recruitment Process'
tab.
You must be registered (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied
to register with the Social Care Council. For Social Worker/Care Manager
positions where non social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is
not required, and you will be appointed as a Care Manager.
You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of
this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if
you cannot drive because of a disability.
In return Lancashire County Council offers a range of benefits, which can be
found on LCC Vacancies website.
We reserve the right to close down a vacancy early, before the closing date, if
we receive sufficient applications.
