Shapes department-wide infrastructure strategy and establishes governance to
deliver technology solutions at scale.
Scope: Cross-platform leadership; harmonizes patterns across business lines and
infrastructure domains (compute, storage, network, identity, workplace,
database, mainframe).
Impact:
Drives enterprise-wide adoption of standards and automation; significant risk
posture improvements and efficiencies; improved resilience and compliance.
Autonomy: Prioritizes investments; aligns funding and OKRs with strategic
pillars; removes systemic blockers; embeds RCSA and control testing into
operations.
Leadership: Sponsors communities of practice; develops leaders; aligns senior
stakeholders; represents infrastructure in executive planning and risk forums.
Typical deliverables: Enterprise roadmaps, capability maturity models,
modernization programs, governance frameworks and control libraries, executive
updates and performance scorecards.
Infrastructure Implementation & System Administration
Set execution standards and oversee readiness for complex deployments across
multi-tier, multi-platform environments. Approve major changes and ensure
operational resilience, performance, and compliance. Review KPIs/OKRs and
post-change outcomes; mentor leaders to ensure quality and documentation
completeness.
Support and Incident Management
Sponsor and steer medium to high impact incident response and problem
management. Ensure rigorous root cause analysis and preventative programs.
Orchestrate cross-functional coordination (production services, cybersecurity,
application/platform teams, vendors) and drive reliability improvements aligned
with risk/governance frameworks.
Infrastructure Design and Documentation
Translate executive strategy into operational roadmaps, reference architectures,
standards, and lifecycle governance (N-1/N+1). Align platform designs with
business objectives, regulatory requirements, and emerging technology trends.
Establish documentation policies and certification criteria for consistent,
audit-ready artifacts.
Automation and Process Optimization
Lead the firm-wide strategy, assessment, and adoption of advanced infrastructure
automation technologies—including Infrastructure-as-Code, self-service
automation frameworks, and SRE-aligned practices—while piloting and scaling
emerging solutions such as advanced compute accelerators (e.g., GPUs), quantum
technologies, and modern cryptographic frameworks. Set technical strategy,
architecture standards, and guardrails to ensure modernization (version
currency, patching, compliance controls, observability), cost optimization, and
measurable business value. Embed continuous improvement and reliability
engineering across the enterprise, driving process automation and fostering a
culture of innovation, operational excellence, and resilience.
Learning, Training, and Community Engagement
Strengthen collaboration across infrastructure groups. Represent engineering in
leadership forums; align vendor and stakeholder partnerships to strategic
outcomes. Reinforce operational excellence through audits, risk remediation, and
post-incident/change reviews; promote inclusion and community engagement.
15–20+ years of experience with extensive enterprise‑scale experience in
software development or technology infrastructure required; experience in the
securities or financial services industry is a plus. Job holder must demonstrate
broad and deep proficiency across multiple infrastructure domains and lead
portfolio‑level solution design and execution. Must be a strong problem solver
with the ability to think critically and strategically, setting technical
direction, governance, and outcomes across platforms and organizations.
Modified Based Upon Local Regulations/Requirements. Bachelor's degree in
computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
required; advanced degree is beneficial. 15-20+ years of diverse experience in
multiple areas of information technology required; experience in the securities
or financial services industry is a plus
