The role
Responsibilities
Own the
day to day management of mortgage cash and reconciliations, including daily reconciliation of borrower payments, funder bank accounts, and servicing system balances.
Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks, ensuring timely resolution and clear audit trails.
Maintain and manage suspense accounts, ensuring items are appropriately allocated and cleared.
Perform and validate mortgage cashflow calculations, including payment waterfalls and distributions, in line with funder requirements.
Ensure financial transactions are accurately reflected across systems, maintaining strong data integrity and control.
Prepare and deliver external funder financial reporting requirements, including preparation and provision of data for bank funders, warehouse funders, and securitisation SPVs.
Support audits (internal, external, and funder), providing reconciliations, documentation, and responses as required.
Process and manage payments, including borrower refunds and third-party costs (e.g. solicitors and receivers), ensuring accurate recording within the servicing system.
Work collaboratively with servicing, finance, and external partners to ensure effective cash management and reporting.
Identify and contribute to operational improvements to enhance processes, efficiency and controls.
Maintain robust financial controls and governance across operational finance activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and auditability of transactions and reporting.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience working in an operational finance or servicing-aligned role within a mortgage lender or loan servicing company, or similar experience.
Strong understanding of mortgage servicing cashflows and reconciliation processes.
Experience supporting structured finance environments (e.g. warehouse SPVs, RMBS) highly desirable.
ACCA or ACA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent experience).
High attention to detail and accuracy working with large volumes of data, with a strong control mindset.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Collaborative and team-oriented approached.
Strong Excel skills
Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and leverage AI to improve efficiency is desirable.
A good sense of humour.

Position is based in Victoria, central London reporting to Head of Operations and Servicing
