Job Summary:
Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) will be responsible for supporting installation,
commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Vertiv UPS systems and
related power infrastructure at customer sites. The role involves hands-on
technical work, coordination with service teams, and ensuring high system
uptime.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of UPS systems
(single-phase & three-phase).
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of UPS, batteries, and
associated equipment.
• Support in troubleshooting and fault analysis of UPS systems and identifying
root causes.
• Monitor system performance, alarms, and take necessary action to ensure
uptime.
• Record and maintain service reports, checklists, and maintenance logs.
• Assist in battery health checks, load measurements, and system parameter
verification.
• Coordinate with senior engineers, vendors, and customers for issue
resolution.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and site protocols.
• Support in RCA (Root Cause Analysis) documentation and corrective actions.
• Participate in site visits, audits, and customer inspections.
Safety:
• Operate in a safe manner in accordance with published safety guidelines
• Must wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines and accordance with job
duties
• Adhere to work hours policy guidelines – “14 hours rule”
• Report all work related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the
appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications:
• Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
• Only candidates who have graduated in 2026 are eligible for the DET position
Customer Satisfaction:
• Provide proper and adequate communication to internal and external customers
• Complete scheduled maintenance documentation properly and provide to the
customer and local office upon completion of each designated assignment
• Provide estimated time of arrival to the customer for where applicable
• Strive to provide all customers a “first time fix” for their equipment
• Maintain customer satisfaction rates according to company guidelines
• Attend Customer Meetings as required
Performance:
• Maximize productivity by combining service opportunities
• Complete all work in an efficient and timely manner
• Capable of making technical and commercial decisions under pressure
• Properly evaluate site and equipment for appropriate billing status
• Maintain productive utilization rate according to company guidelines
• Adhere to company dress code and safety regulations
• Meet or exceed on-site response time requirements for each customer
Technical Skills:
• Basic knowledge of:
• UPS systems and power electronics
• Electrical circuits and troubleshooting
• Batteries (VRLA / Lithium-ion basics)
• Ability to read:
• SLD (Single Line Diagrams)
• Electrical schematics
Familiarity with test tools such as multimeter, clamp meter.
Soft Skills:
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to work in field/service environment
• Quick learner with problem-solving mindset
• Team coordination and discipline
Working Conditions:
• Travel is required
• Flexible schedules (weekends, evenings, and holidays)
• Valid driver’s license

DET → Service Engineer → Senior Engineer → Lead Engineer / Supervisor
