The role involves working across device connectivity, edge computing, cloud platforms, data pipelines, and integrations with enterprise systems such as MES/ERP, with a strong focus on scalability, security, and reliability. Key ResponsibilitiesIoT Solution Design & ArchitectureDesign end-to-end IoT architectures covering devices, gateways, edge processing, cloud ingestion, storage, and visualizationDefine device-to-cloud communication patterns (MQTT, HTTP/REST, AMQP)Select appropriate edge, cloud, and data technologies based on use casesDevice & Edge DevelopmentDevelop and integrate IoT device software and edge applicationsWork with industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC-UA, CAN, BLE, ZigbeeImplement offline-first and store-and-forward mechanisms at the edgePerform device provisioning, configuration, firmware updates (OTA)Cloud & Backend DevelopmentBuild scalable IoT backends using Azure IoT Hub / AWS IoT Core / GCP IoTDesign and develop APIs (REST, WebSockets) for device and application integrationImplement data processing pipelines (real-time and batch)Integrate IoT data with MES, ERP, CMMS, and analytics platformsData Management & AnalyticsStructure and manage high-volume time-series dataIntegrate sensor data into dashboards and visualization toolsSupport AI/ML use cases such as predictive maintenance, quality monitoringSecurity & ComplianceImplement device identity, authentication, and authorizationEnsure data security through encryption (at rest and in transit)Follow best practices for IoT security, patching, and complianceDevOps & OperationsDeploy and manage IoT services using Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelinesMonitor system health, device connectivity, and performance metricsTroubleshoot production issues across device, network, and cloud layersCollaboration & DocumentationWork closely with hardware, firmware, cloud, and UI teamsPrepare technical design documents, architecture diagrams, and SOPsMentor junior engineers and contribute to best practicesRequired Skills & QualificationsTechnical SkillsIoT Platforms: Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT, or equivalent(Any one)Programming: Python, Node.js, C/C++, Java (any two)Protocols: MQTT, HTTP/REST, OPC-UA, Modbus, AMQP (everything)Edge & Devices: Gateways, sensors, industrial controllersCloud: Azure/AWS services, microservices architecture(Any one)Databases: Time-series (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB), SQL/NoSQL (Anyone)DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git (Any one)Security: Device security, certificates, RBAC (Any one)Domain KnowledgeIndustrial IoT / Manufacturing / Smart Factory experience preferredFamiliarity with MES integration, shop-floor systems, telemetry data Nice to HaveExperience with Digital Twin solutionsExposure to AI/ML models using IoT dataKnowledge of offline-first web apps and indexed storageExperience with Three.js / visualization dashboardsCertifications in Azure/AWS IoT or Cloud ArchitectureEducational QualificationBachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field
