Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Night Chef Supervisor to lead our culinary operations during night shift hours at our facility in Runcorn, United Kingdom. In this role, you will oversee kitchen staff, ensure exceptional food quality and safety standards, and maintain efficient operations throughout the night shift.
The
ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, culinary expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Supervise and mentor night shift kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of work
Oversee all food preparation, cooking to maintain consistent quality and presentation standards
Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene protocols, and health and safety standards at all times
Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, and coordinate with suppliers to minimize waste and control food costs
Analyze kitchen operations and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency optimization
Prepare and organize the kitchen for service, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and stations are well-stocked
Handle customer complaints or special requests during night shift operations with professionalism and decisiveness
Maintain detailed records of food preparation, inventory usage, and staff performance
Communicate effectively with day shift management regarding operational issues, inventory needs, and staff concerns
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures during night shift operations
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef or in a senior kitchen position with at least 3-5 years of culinary expertise
Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience in a kitchen or food service environment
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and health and safety compliance
Proficiency in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and culinary best practices
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
Proficiency in inventory management and food costing principles
Problem-solving abilities and decisiveness in handling operational challenges
Familiarity with kitchen management systems and equipment
Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays
Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent food safety certification (preferred)
Experience managing night shift kitchen operations (preferred)
Knowledge of budgeting and cost control in food service operations (preferred)
