Job Details
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Manager to
provide strategic leadership and operational management across all non-teaching
functions within a busy secondary school environment.
The post holder will work closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership
Team to ensure the effective management of school finances, human resources,
administrative services, facilities, health and safety, procurement, and
business support functions. They will play a key role in supporting the school's
vision and improvement priorities by ensuring that resources are managed
efficiently and deliver best value. The importance of effective business
management support for Headteachers in areas such as financial planning, budget
monitoring and resource management is reflected in local Devolved School
Management guidance.
The Business Manager will lead and manage administrative and support staff,
promoting a culture of continuous improvement, high performance and excellent
customer service. They will be responsible for developing, reviewing and
implementing systems and processes that enhance operational efficiency, ensure
compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies, and support the
effective delivery of educational services.
Working in partnership with central support services and colleagues across the
authority, the post holder will contribute to strategic planning, financial
management and workforce planning activities, providing professional advice and
support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team.
As a Business Manager, you will work under the direction and supervision of the
Headteacher, contributing to the leadership and management of the school and
ensuring that resources, people and processes are aligned to support the best
possible outcomes for young people.

Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements
You are required to have an Honours Degree or equivalent educational
qualification to SCQF level 10 in a relevant discipline.
You will have extensive experience of working in an educational setting, along
with an ability to respond positively in an environment of change.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of
Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become
a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
