The Service & Team:
Safeguarding Adult Boards are statutory bodies that have oversight of
safeguarding arrangements for adults in their local authority areas as defined
in the Care Act 20
14. Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Adults Board
(CIoS SAB) fulfils both its challenge and assurance functions and a supportive
role in critically appraising and supporting the development of local
multi-agency safeguarding practice.
The SAB Administrator role will support the SAB team and wider partnership by
undertaking the administrative functions that enable SAB partners to meet their
statutory duties and functions.
The Role:
The SAB Administrator role will support the SAB team and wider partnership by
undertaking a variety of administrative functions that enable SAB partners to
meet their statutory duties and responsibilities.
This fixed-term post will primarily focus on providing administrative support
for Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs), from the receipt of a referral through
to the implementation and monitoring of recommendations. Responsibilities will
include coordinating meetings, maintaining records and documentation, processing
correspondence, supporting information requests, managing action trackers,
maintaining SAR databases, and assisting with the preparation and distribution
of reports, learning materials, and partnership communications.
The role will provide the administrative infrastructure that underpins SAR
activity, helping to ensure that review processes are well organised, documented
and delivered in a timely manner, and that learning and recommendations are
effectively tracked and reported.
The role will also provide support to wider SAB activity when covering annual
leave for our other Business Support.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language
requirement for public sector workers applies.
This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check.
Working Pattern:
Full time 37 hours per week.

What you’ll need to succeed:
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive administrator who can work
independently, manage competing priorities, and provide efficient support to a
busy safeguarding team. You will be a self-starter with strong administrative
experience, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to coordinate
activity across multiple agencies and partners.
The successful candidate will have:
• Experience providing high-quality administrative support in a fast-paced
environment.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks,
prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
• Experience producing accurate and timely minutes and maintaining clear
records and documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise
with partners, follow up actions, and support collaborative working.
• Experience working across multiple organisations or services to achieve
shared outcomes.
• Good data management skills, including collecting, maintaining and presenting
information accurately.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to work independently, use initiative, and respond positively to
changing priorities.
• A professional, customer-focused approach and the ability to deal sensitively
with challenging situations.
• Good numerical, organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to produce well-presented reports, correspondence and documents
to a high standard.
• A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to maintaining high
standards of service delivery.
• A willingness to learn, develop and adapt as the needs of the role evolve.
Most importantly, you will be someone who can organise both your own workload
and support others to stay organised, ensuring key actions, meetings, documents
and deadlines are effectively coordinated. You will be comfortable taking
ownership of administrative processes, tracking progress, prompting colleagues
and partners when required, and making sure important activity does not lose
