About the Role As a Coroner's Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting HM Coroner in the investigation of deaths across Nottinghamshire. You will liaise with bereaved families, medical professionals, police, pathologists and other partner agencies, gathering and assessing information to support coronial decision-making. The role involves managing sensitive and complex cases, preparing inquest files, coordinating post-mortem examinations, and assisting with court hearings, while providing a compassionate, professional and high-quality service to all those affected by bereavement. This is a varied and rewarding position requiring excellent communication skills, sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism. About You The ideal candidate will have: ·         Proven successful office experience in a high pressured and sensitive environment. Able to produce neat, clear and accurate work and have good numeracy skills. ·         Ability to demonstrate excellent and accurate computer skills and the ability to use a variety of software packages and applications to support the delivery of the service. ·         Ability to apply complex medical terms and discuss with professional stakeholders and bereaved families in a professional and understanding manner. ·         A full understanding of customer care and the ability to deal with customers with tact, discretion and understanding, and to be able to deal with challenging and emotional behaviour. This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.
