The service adopts an early intervention approach, working with those who are in the initial stages of poor attendance and supporting them to understand why and correct this before it becomes imbedded. We are looking for a committed Attendance Support Worker to provide comprehensive support in a confidential manner on attendance management issues within the service to encourage early intervention and provide appropriate support for pupils. To develop positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff and other services, building pupil confidence, and enhancing their ability to learn.  As an Attendance Support Worker, you will meet with the pupil within their school setting and work with them to promote self-regulation strategies, build resilience, and support them to express their opinions, through active listening. You will also liaise with school staff and families to ensure a consistent approach to learning, engagement and routine. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required. Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements Experience of working with young people (Taking Ownership – See How We Work Matters Framework)  Educated to SCQF level 4, which includes National 4 or Standard Grades at General level or O’ Grades or equivalent An ability to establish good working relationships with pupils, colleagues and families. Time and workload management skills  Ability to provide a regular and effective Service Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
