Role Title: VP – Data Management Engagement Lead
BU/Segment: Data Management / Banking & Capital Markets
Location: London, United Kingdom (Flexible hybrid working, with time on client
site as required)
Reports to: VP2 – Data Management Leader (IMU / SGU Interlock Lead)
Employment Type: Permanent
Summary of the role:
The VP – Data Management Engagement Lead is a senior, client-facing leadership
role that combines hands-on leadership of a strategic client engagement with a
substantial contribution to the growth and development of the Data Management
practice. Working under the direction of the Interlock Lead, this role is
accountable for the end-to-end success of assigned flagship engagements,
delivery, commercials, client relationships and team, while dedicating a defined
proportion of their time to building the propositions, assets and client
evidence that underpin the practice's go-to-market agenda.
This is a role for a senior practitioner who can operate credibly in front of
client executives, lead multi-shore delivery teams on site, and translate what
they see and learn on engagements into repeatable propositions and proof points
for the wider practice. The role carries engagement-level commercial
accountability and contributes to the vertical's growth plan; it does not carry
vertical P&L ownership, which sits with the Interlock Lead.
Banking and Capital Markets domain expertise is essential, with the successful
candidate bringing a strong understanding of the data management, governance,
regulatory and transformation challenges facing financial services
organisations.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
45% Engagement Leadership
• Lead the successful delivery of assigned strategic Data Management client
engagements from initiation through completion, on site with the client as
required, in alignment with business requirements, project objectives,
contracted deliverables and EXL methodologies.
• Own the engagement-level commercials: budget, margin, invoicing, provisions
and forecasts, working with the Finance team monthly and escalating material
variances to the Interlock Lead.
• Serve as the senior EXL Data Management leader on the ground for the
engagement, acting as the day-to-day escalation point for the client's
delivery sponsors and programme leadership.
• Identify, onboard, assemble and manage the multi-functional, multi-shore
resources required to fulfil planned delivery to customer expectations,
leveraging technical and competency leads for consistent, competent
expertise.
• Manage project change requests, change orders and corrective actions; develop
and execute action plans where delivery is at risk or underperforming.
• Conduct engagement analysis to identify client issues, risks, opportunities
and their potential impacts, and produce engagement metrics that evidence
delivery success and business value.
• Facilitate consistent communication to stakeholders outlining status, risks,
issues and action plans, including accurate and timely updates to project
sponsors and the Interlock Lead.
30% Proposition & Practice Development (under the direction of the Interlock
Lead)
• Build and develop Data Management propositions, offerings and go-to-market
assets in line with the practice strategy and priorities set by the Interlock
Lead.
• Convert engagement experience into reusable practice assets: case studies,
proof points, reference architectures, accelerators and client-evidenced
narratives that support the practice's positioning.
• Support qualification of new opportunities and contribute domain and delivery
expertise to proposals, RFI/RFP responses and statements of work developed
with Sales and the Interlock Lead.
• Contribute to the practice's interlock activities with IMU and SGU
stakeholders, including capability showcases, partner sessions and internal
enablement, representing the practice where delegated by the Interlock Lead.
• Bring market, client and delivery insight back into the practice to inform
proposition priorities, capability investment and the practice narrative.
15% Client Relationship & Growth Contribution
• Build trusted relationships with senior delivery and programme stakeholders
on the assigned engagement and account.
• Identify opportunities for expansion and growth within the assigned
engagement and account – extensions, adjacent scope, cross-sell into other
EXL capabilities – and qualify these with the Interlock Lead and account
leadership.
• Conduct periodic delivery and business reviews within the assigned account,
clearly articulating the value delivered through the engagement.
• Support the Interlock Lead in executive-level client conversations, account
planning and periodic business reviews across the wider portfolio as
required.
• Monitor client satisfaction on the assigned engagement, proactively
addressing issues or concerns and protecting the practice's positioning for
future opportunities.
10% Team Leadership & Development
• Provide coaching, mentoring and support to engagement team members, including
solution architect and project manager activities as needed.
• Provide feedback on engagement team performance to people managers and
competency leads and contribute to goal-setting and evaluations for team
members where assigned.
• Assist with the recruiting of new consulting employees and contract resources
by performing technical and non-technical interviews and providing feedback
to hiring managers and recruiting teams.
5% Other duties as assigned or identified
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or IT, or 12+ years of relevant
professional experience.
* 10+ years of professional experience with Business Intelligence and Data
Warehouse implementations and enterprise data management.
* 5+ years of experience working with Banking & Capital Markets organisations
in either a consulting services environment or directly.

• Demonstrable experience contributing to propositions, proposals or pre-sales
in a consulting services organisation.

high-quality major deliverables and producing results.
• Ability to organise, prioritise and manage complex project dependencies.
• Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence with client delivery and
programme leadership beyond simply EDM.
• Effective and at ease presenting across formal settings — one-on-ones, small
and large groups (25+), and external meetings — to peers, direct reports and
senior managers.
• Ability to translate delivery experience into compelling, client-evidenced
propositions and proof points.
• Excels in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong
problem-solving skills are required for success.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpolate from abstract
material.
• Ability to partner across the organisation to coordinate resources and solve
issues.
• Understanding of, and ability to apply, Business Analysis and Requirements
Gathering to projects.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Demonstrates strong understanding of the types of technology/tools available
and how these are used in EDM solutions, including an understanding of the
