Location: Leeds and London Directorate / Division Overview Monetary Policy Assessment and Strategy provides the core analytical support that helps the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) make decisions on monetary policy to meet the inflation target. The area brings together expertise in economic analysis, forecasting and policy strategy, working closely with colleagues across the Bank and the MPC Unit. Within the area, the Economic Outlook and Current Economic Conditions divisions play a central role in assessing developments in the UK and global economy, producing analysis that supports the MPC's understanding of inflationary pressures and the outlook for growth and inflation.  We are seeking a highly motivated, organised and proactive Personal Assistant to provide high-quality support to the Head of Divisions and selected senior managers.  This is a varied and interesting role in a dynamic area of the Bank, offering exposure to senior stakeholders, divisional management activity and cross-Bank work. The jobholder will provide a full secretarial, administrative and operational support service. They will be expected to manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, build strong relationships across the Bank and handle sensitive information with discretion. The role would suit someone who enjoys working at pace, takes pride in delivering excellent support and is keen to improve processes and ways of working. The successful candidate will be part of a wider PA and support team. The team is self-covering, so the jobholder will be expected to work flexibly with other PAs, provide cover during absences and contribute positively to the wider support community, including cover for more senior PA offices where required. You would: • Provide proactive, high-quality PA support to the Head of Divisions and selected senior managers, acting as a trusted point of contact and using judgement when handling requests. • Manage complex and frequently changing diaries, resolve scheduling conflicts, prioritise competing meeting requests and ensure senior leaders have sufficient preparation time. • Proactively manage inboxes, monitor correspondence, highlight urgent matters, coordinate responses and ensure actions are progressed promptly. • Organise divisional management meetings, leadership meetings and wider staff events, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking. • Work with the Head of Divisions and management teams to keep the divisions running effectively, highlighting outstanding actions, chasing deadlines and supporting governance activity. • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues at all levels, including senior internal stakeholders and external contacts. • Support recruitment activity, including arranging interviews, preparing interview packs, coordinating candidate communications and supporting onboarding arrangements. • Complete joiner, mover and leaver processes and help ensure colleagues have a positive experience when joining or moving within the division. • Arrange domestic and international travel, prepare itineraries, process expenses and support budget tracking or other administrative processes through the year. • Identify opportunities to improve, streamline or automate divisional processes, including making effective use of Microsoft 365 tools and new technologies. • Work collaboratively with the wider PA network, providing cover across divisions and supporting senior PA offices when required. There is some flexibility to shape the role around the successful candidate’s strengths and interests, particularly in relation to process improvement, divisional coordination and wider PA community contribution. Role Requirements: Minimum Criteria  This role requires strong PA or executive support experience, excellent judgement and the ability to provide calm, proactive support in a busy senior leadership environment. You should have: • Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. • Experience managing complex diaries, inboxes, meetings, papers, actions, travel and expenses. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging with colleagues at all levels. • Sound judgement, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive or confidential information. • A proactive, self-starting approach, with the ability to work independently, use initiative and solve problems. • Flexibility, resilience and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote and Excel. Essential Criteria • A collaborative approach and commitment to inclusive, respectful working practices. • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships and networks quickly. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.  The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time. • A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool. • An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.    * 26 days’ annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits.  • Private medical insurance and income protection.
