Description

We're looking for an experienced Operations Risk Manager (Emergency & Crisis Management) to lead and continuously improve our Emergency Response, Crisis Management and Business Continuity capability across the organisation.
This is a highly visible role working closely with senior leaders, operational teams, regulators and external stakeholders to ensure AirTanker remains prepared to respond effectively to major incidents, operational disruptions and emergency situations.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Ground Operations, you'll be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving AirTanker's approach to Emergency Response, Crisis Management and Business Continuity.
You'll lead emergency exercises, coordinate organisational readiness activities, support senior leaders during incidents and ensure our policies, plans and procedures remain aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
The role also plays a key part in driving continuous improvement, ensuring lessons learned from exercises, audits and operational events are embedded across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading AirTanker's Emergency Response programme and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Owning and maintaining Crisis Management and Business Continuity frameworks, plans and governance arrangements.
Designing and delivering emergency response, crisis management and business continuity exercises.
Supporting senior stakeholders during incidents and providing subject matter expertise.
Leading business continuity planning and facilitating business impact assessments.
Acting as a key interface with regulators and audit bodies.
Providing risk insight, assurance and recommendations to senior leadership.
Driving a culture of preparedness, resilience and continuous improvement across the organisation.
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong operational resilience expertise with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
You will have experience operating within complex, highly regulated environments and be comfortable engaging with senior leaders, regulators and operational teams alike.
You'll bring:
Experience in Emergency Response, Crisis Management and Business Continuity management.
A strong understanding of operational risk and resilience principles.
Experience developing and delivering emergency, crisis or continuity exercises.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance and assurance activities within a regulated industry.
The ability to influence, challenge and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
The confidence to operate effectively in high-pressure and time-critical situations.
Experience of Business Continuity Management frameworks such as ISO 22301 would be advantageous.
