Maintenance Electrician
Tytherington
£45,000 – £50,000 (depending on experience) + overtime
45 hours per week
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our team in Tytherington. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of electrical systems across site.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of electrical duties, including installation, fault finding, breakdown repairs, and preventative maintenance. The role is critical in ensuring the ongoing serviceability, safety, and compliance of electrical systems, plant, and equipment.
Working in line with Heidelberg Materials’ policies and statutory regulations, you will help maintain a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors, while supporting operational efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs across site equipment and systems
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime
Maintain and execute planned and reactive maintenance schedules in line with KPIs
Ensure all work complies with the Electricity at Work Regulations (1989), Quarry Regulations (1999), and relevant safety standards
Take ownership of electrical assets, including HV/LV substations and switch rooms
Act as LV/HV Appointed Person when required
Support and promote electrical safety programmes across site
Escalate and address any safety concerns, stopping work where necessary
Maintain accurate records, certification, and documentation
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Work collaboratively within a small team to deliver safe, timely outcomes
Participate in occasional weekend and night shifts as required
About You
Time-served electrician with a recognised apprenticeship
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience within an industrial environment (e.g. aggregates, steel, mining, oil & gas) is advantageous but not essential
Self-motivated, organised, and able to work under pressure
Strong communication skills with the ability to support and influence others
Full UK driving licence

AM2
IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (2018 + A3 2024)
C&G 2394 (Initial Verification)
C&G 2395 (Inspection & Testing)
C&G 2396 (Design & Verification) – desirable
Working knowledge of the IET Code of Practice for Inspection and Testing
