Warehouse Operative Application Deadline: 16 September 2026 Department: Operations Employment Type: Permanent • Full Time Location: Milton Keynes Compensation: £27,631 / year Description We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Production Operative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing customer orders by accurately picking materials, packing the correct quantities, and ensuring all products are clearly identified and securely packaged for dispatch. You will also return excess stock to the correct storage locations and safely operate equipment such as forklift trucks and Hubtex vehicles following appropriate training. Working as part of a busy production environment, you will help ensure customer orders are completed accurately, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Success in this role means maintaining productivity, following health and safety procedures, and ensuring customers receive the correct materials and specifications every time. Your contribution will be key to keeping operations running efficiently and delivering excellent service to our customers. Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday: 6am-2pm Key Responsibilities Accurately allocate, locate and retrieve materials to support production and customer orders. Carry out hardness testing and quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications. Safely pack, load and prepare materials for dispatch, ensuring they are protected and correctly identified. Maintain high standards of housekeeping to ensure a clean, organised and safe working environment. Apply etching, marking and identification processes to ensure full product traceability. Receive, unload and check incoming deliveries against delivery documentation. Inspect materials for quality, accuracy and any signs of damage. Accurately record received stock and update inventory systems to maintain traceability. Safely store materials and products in designated warehouse locations. Maintain accurate stock records and support inventory management activities. Assist with regular stock checks and cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy. Pick materials accurately in line with customer orders and production requirements. Pack products securely, ensuring they are ready for safe transportation. Prepare shipment documentation and support the timely dispatch of customer orders. Follow safe manual handling and material handling procedures at all times. Maintain a clean, tidy and hazard-free working environment. Adhere to company policies, procedures and all relevant health and safety standards. Support other operational activities as required to meet business and customer needs. Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the role as requested by management. Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties. Desirable Skills, Experience & Knowledge Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment. Experience using overhead cranes, forklift trucks, Hubtex trucks, or other material handling equipment. Knowledge of stock control, order picking, packing, and dispatch processes. Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems. Understanding of quality checks, material traceability, and product identification processes.
