💼 Salary: £42,000
🕒 Hours: Monday – Friday, 40hrs p/w role combines classroom delivery, travel and desk-based standards/content work
📈 Reports to: Head of Transport. Functional (dotted-line) oversight of the site-based Driver Trainers, who continue to report operationally to their site management.
What are we looking for?
We’re recruiting a National CPC & Training Manager to take central ownership of driver training across the Noble Foods transport business. This is a broader role than a traditional site-based CPC Trainer: alongside personally delivering Driver CPC periodic training across our sites, the post holder will own the content, quality and consistency of everything our site Driver Trainers deliver — ensuring every driver across the fleet, regardless of location, receives training to the same high standard.
This is a matrix role. The National Trainer sets the training strategy, content and standards; site Driver Trainers remain part of their local site teams but are expected to deliver against the national standard this role defines and audits. It suits someone who can lead through influence and credibility as much as through direct delivery.
Key Responsibilities
National CPC Delivery
Deliver RTITB-accredited Driver CPC periodic training directly to drivers across all Noble Foods sites, working to a rolling annual training calendar.
Plan and manage an efficient delivery schedule across five geographically dispersed sites, balancing direct delivery, travel, and standards/oversight work.
Deliver structured induction and refresher training on new equipment, vehicle features, legislation updates and fuel-efficient driving techniques where this falls outside site-level delivery.
Training Standardisation & Content Ownership
Own and maintain a single, version-controlled national training standard and content library, covering CPC periodic training, induction, and equipment/technology training (e.g. EV, electric TRU) across all sites.
Define what “good” looks like for driver training delivery across the business, translating DVSA/RTITB national standards into a practical, auditable in-house standard.
Keep training content current with regulatory changes, new equipment and technology, and business priorities, retiring outdated material promptly.
Site Trainer Support & Quality Assurance
Act as the functional lead for the site-based Driver Trainers, setting direction and providing coaching, mentoring and technical support.
Observe and audit site trainer delivery on a planned cycle, providing constructive feedback and escalating persistent gaps against the standard to site management.
Lead the deputisation of delivery to site trainers where agreed, ensuring quality is maintained through the transition.
Support site trainers in achieving and maintaining RTITB/NRI registration where this is not yet in place.
Schedule, Compliance & Reporting
Maintain a national training schedule with full visibility across all sites, tracking completion against each driver’s CPC hours requirement and flagging at-risk drivers in good time.
Maintain accurate, compliant training and assessment records in collaboration with HR, ensuring records from all sites feed into a single accurate national picture.
Prepare periodic reports on training delivery, standards compliance, and site trainer performance, highlighting risks, gaps and action plans.
Analyse driver data — including accident trends and fuel consumption — across the fleet to identify training needs and shape the national content plan.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Conduct and document health and safety assessments and audits at sites and on farms as required.
Support FTA/Logistics UK site visits, translating findings into training and content updates applied consistently across all sites.
Ensure full compliance with company and legal transport training requirements, implementing regulatory updates promptly across the national standard.

Delivery of 100% of the national CPC training schedule.
Consistent training standards implemented across all sites.
