RESPONSIBILITIES
What you’ll be doing
This role offers an exciting opportunity to become a key member of the Strategic
Finance team, with primary responsibility for supporting the generation and
optimisation of income and Return on Equity across the Commercial Banking
customer portfolio. Working closely with Commercial Directors, you will help
identify, evaluate and convert opportunities with both existing and prospective
customers, managing the process from initial meetings through to transaction
completion. You will undertake detailed analysis of business proposals, conduct
independent research on companies and sectors, and prepare comprehensive credit
applications, including financial modelling and assessment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in building and maintaining
strong customer relationships, enhancing the bank's profile within the local and
regional market, and developing a broad network of internal and external
contacts. You will support the delivery of a seamless onboarding experience for
new-to-bank customers by collaborating with colleagues across the business and
ensuring all documentation, due diligence requirements and security arrangements
are completed accurately and efficiently. In addition, you will assist in the
ongoing management of the commercial portfolio, monitoring compliance with
facility agreements and covenants, ensuring all regulatory and internal
requirements are met, and liaising effectively with customers, agency functions
and Credit teams regarding customer reviews, consent requests and ongoing risk
management activities.
About you
• Knowledge of systems and processes in a business banking/ financial services
environment
• A knowledge of lending and securities policy and procedures
• A passion for – and good knowledge of – supporting larger businesses and
delivering outstanding customer service
• Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills (including Excel
financial modelling skills) with an ability to understand and interpret
financial statements
• Strong organisational, relationship and project management skills to deliver
excellent levels of customer service, high standards of work and outstanding
attention to detail
• Capacity to cope with multiple varied situations, tight deadlines and to have
a flexible approach to challenges and problem solving and work prioritisation
• Excellent interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills
with strong experience of engaging with the local professional community
• Understanding of risk and compliance requirements in line with the role
