What you'll do
Shape the future of M&S TV. You’ll lead the content, audience and talent
strategy behind a bold, culturally relevant channel that entertains, inspires
and drives growth. From commissioning standout formats and growing our YouTube
community to securing brilliant talent and protecting usage rights, you’ll turn
audience insight into content people choose to watch, share and shop.
• Own the M&S TV content and editorial strategy across Food, Fashion, Home &
Beauty, creating a clear programming plan and distinctive creative thread.
• Turn audience insight, brand priorities and cultural trends into
entertaining formats that build repeat viewing and commercial impact.
• Set the YouTube growth strategy and publishing calendar, with final
approval of titles, thumbnails, metadata and cadence.
• Grow and protect the community through active engagement, moderation,
sentiment monitoring and timely escalation.
• Lead the talent strategy—sourcing and approving presenters, guests and
creators while owning relationships, budgets and contingency plans.
• Ensure every talent agreement and usage right is centrally tracked,
compliant and audit-ready.
• Direct South Shore and agency partners, using performance data to improve
content and optimise distribution across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and M&S.com.
Who you are
• Strong progress towards 300,000 subscribers by March 2027 and longer-term
growth ambitions.
• Higher watch time, view-through, engagement and sales across content
pillars.
• Positive community sentiment and responsive audience management.
• Compelling formats that entertain as strongly as they sell.
• 100% of talent usage rights tracked, with no compliance gaps or unplanned
fee overruns.
• Proven content strategy, editorial commissioning and audience-growth
experience.
• Deep knowledge of YouTube and organic social, including optimisation and
performance analysis.
• Experience managing talent, creators or influencers, including contracts
and usage rights.
• Strong community management, stakeholder leadership and analytical skills.
• Confidence directing production companies and agencies without direct
line-management authority.
• Experience with media partners, rights-management tools or digital asset
systems would be an advantage.
