Local Government Reorganisation
The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be
reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary
councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 20
29.
If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire
County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will
transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2029, subject to the
implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
Throughout this period, our focus remains on delivering excellent services to
our communities. By joining us now, you'll play an important role in shaping the
future of local government and helping to build a strong new organisation that
will serve residents for years to come.

The post holder will report directly to the Senior Service Manager or the Head
of Service in their absence, and provide overall management to a number of
residential services including intermediate care, long term care for older
people and people living with dementia and/or day time support services and/or
interim domiciliary service in several geographical areas.
You will need to possess or be working towards a CSS, CQSW, DipSW, HNC/D, NVQ5
in Caring Services or a care related qualification at a similar level. You will
need to have two years managerial experience in a care setting in either
residential, day care or home care services.
You will have excellent communication skills along with drive and determination
and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing and developing
teams to ensure a high quality service delivery within an uncertain environment.
