As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a vital role in managing data flow and supporting project management activities. What you'll do Our projects range from small improvements to stores to the building of new supermarkets and local fulfilment centres (LFCs). You’ll manage the flow of data and requests for information between various internal and external stakeholders, updating project information on the Programme Management portal to ensure consistency, and completing project documentation accurately and on time. You will track and manage data across multiple workstreams using various tools and platforms, investigate and resolve issues or queries raised by the team, and establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, as well as providing general admin support. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to project manage small projects (including equipment installation) with support from a Project Manager. There is an ambition for this role to assist the wider team in becoming more technologically advanced, including use of AI in building agents for the team, which would increase project productivity. Occasional nationwide travel is required in this role, once every 6 weeks on average. Who you are You’re a highly organised professional with excellent tech & AI skills, particularly in Microsoft Office 365 programs such as CoPilot, Excel and PowerPoint. Your attention to detail and accuracy, along with your ability to problem solve and use initiative, contribute to the effective management of data flow and support in small project management. With your strong communication skills, both verbal and written, you can build relationships with diverse stakeholders and present complex information in a clear and concise manner. Your natural curiosity, coupled with your experience and continued interest in the retail industry, drives your passion for understanding how the business operates. As a team player who can also work autonomously, you effectively manage your time and make decisions to prioritise tasks at pace. With the support of Project Managers and Heads of Construction, you have access to personal development tools and mentoring to further enhance your skills and knowledge in project management. Essential criteria • Demonstrable strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly CoPilot, and Excel (basic formulas & pivot tables). • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, including presenting complex information to diverse stakeholders. • Evidence of effective time management and task prioritisation. • Experience within construction, retail or FMCG.
