• Suffolk Association of Local Councils • Address: Claydon, Ipswich, Suffolk IP6 0AJ • Salary: £37,280 - £40,777 per annum, plus homeworking allowance £6 per week - please note there is a pay award review pending • Hours: 37 hours per week • Contract: Permanent • Reference: 0902     The Role   * provision of payroll and advisory services to the users of this service * to design marketing for business growth including the supervision and management of the Payroll Administrator.   This role focuses on administering a range of business processes and procedures related to payroll. It centres on ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations, supporting member councils through efficient information handling, and maintaining well organised records and systems. The post will design the wider development and promotion of SALC’s payroll service and the publication of blogs and online guidance to support councils understanding. Supervision and management of the Payroll Administrator - leading, coaching and developing to promoting accuracy, efficiency and a strong customer focus.   Your responsibilities   * supervision and management of the Payroll Administrator  * design marketing for business growth of the payroll service * developing knowledge of the sector * contributing to the development of online information * producing regular blogs to support councils understanding * preparing reports * processing payroll * calculating the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc., ensuring these comply with regulations * production of payslips and distributing the same to customers with the assistance of the SALC Brightpay software * receiving and processing change requests for payroll including timesheets, expenses, new employees or leavers * maintaining database records * addressing issues and questions regarding payroll from member councils, employees and superiors.              About us   Suffolk Association of Local Councils (SALC) has a long-standing reputation as a trusted voice across the local government sector in Sufolk and have supported town and parish councils and parish meetings for over 75 years.
