Job Title: Business Analyst, Associate
Reports to: Co-Head of Product Management
Job Overview
The Product and Project Management team sits at the crossroads of most departments in the company, acting as the central coordination group touching development, sales/client management, operations, surveillance, quality assurance and senior management.
As part of the Product Management team, you will own the analysis and implementation of new initiatives and features for the Technologies department but closely interacting with the stake holders across all 3 of Aquis' business lines. Acting as a bridge between our stakeholders and engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring that product features align with the clients/business needs, gathering requirements, project planning, documenting solutions and more.
This role will involve extensive interaction with external stakeholders and requires in depth knowledge on tradable financial products. Occasional business travel will be required.
A high degree of attention to detail and professionalism is key to the role of maintaining client relationships. The successful candidate should be able to own and manage new product features concurrently, overseeing the delivery of software throughout the SDLC and escalating risks to delivery where appropriate. An understanding of regulated markets, trading venues and cross-asset instruments (such as equities and ETFs but also listed derivatives and bonds) will also be beneficial. Affinity with the technical aspects of trading will be a positive.
Responsibilities and Duties
Requirements gathering – comprehensive scoping of stakeholder needs, collaborating closely with our development teams to translate these requirements and implement an engineering solution.
Project management – drive the delivery of product initiatives. Defining project timelines and identifying dependencies and risks to delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication – Liaise with external and internal stakeholders (including sales, operations, compliance, surveillance, and technical teams) to provide updates and ensure product objectives are met.
Contribution to the Product Roadmap – contribute to the product roadmap in line with Aquis' evolving business priorities.
Client Onboarding – develop and provide comprehensive training materials (in English) for internal teams and clients, ensuring a clear understanding of product features and functionalities.
Innovate and collaborate – Solve problems with innovative solutions. Have the confidence to challenge stakeholders and determine the most appropriate solution. Propose process, technology, and framework changes to improve implementations.
Risk assessment – Appropriately assess risks and identify any required actions required to mitigate risks.
Using tools such as MS Project to manage forecasts.
Experience
The successful candidate will have a strong and positive work ethic with the ability to forge lasting relationships (both internal and external) at all levels. You do not need to have all the skills and experiences to apply for the role. However, the appetite and ability to learn these in the role is a must.
Essential
Experience as a business analyst, with a demonstrated ability to build out requirements for trading technology solutions in electronic traded asset classes, preferably with equity trading.
Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
A proven track record of delivering multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality of work.
Experience working with engineering teams in line with Agile/scrum Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, translating business requirements into stories and epics.
Proficiency in creating and maintaining clear, comprehensive technical documentation and API specifications.
Desired
Understanding of ultra-low latency distributed computing environments.
Familiarity with FIX trading protocol and market data systems.
Understanding of networking (TCP and UDP) and multicast data delivery.
Understanding of traditional and on-premises physical infrastructure and distributed server architectures running on Linux.
Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
Familiar with creating wireframes, a visual representation and outlining a framework for graphical user interface development.
