About the role We are seeking a sharp, proactive, and highly organised Operations Manager to keep the Y4Y engine running at peak efficiency. As a dynamic digital charity led by a part-time CEO, we need an operational lead who can untangle administrative bottlenecks, streamline cross-functional workflows, and keep our remote team of directors, volunteers, and DWP placement staff aligned and supported. Reports to: CEO Classification: Manager Location: Fully remote with some business travel required Salary [range]: £32,000 - 36,00 per year, pro rata Contract Type: fixed-term, part-time Weekly working hours: 25 Responsibilities Administrative & Workflow Management: Take full ownership of day-to-day administrative functions, eliminating bottlenecks and freeing the executive team to focus on strategic growth and funding. Process Optimisation: Refine and standardise operational workflows across our digital platforms (Teamtailor, Deel, communication portals, and team management tools). Team & Volunteer Support: Act as the operational connective tissue between directors, volunteer leads (Youth Services, IT, Volunteer Experience), and DWP placement staff. Governance & Board Liaison: Assist the CEO with Board of Trustees logistics, meeting preparation, governance compliance, and internal reporting. Project Tracking: Monitor key deliverables across current strategic roadmaps, ensuring milestone deadlines (such as portal rollouts and DWP cohort onboarding) are met. Skills Operational Experience: Proven track record in operations, administrative management, or delivery coordination within a charity, SME, or fast-paced startup environment. Tech-Savvy & Systems-Minded: Highly confident using digital operations tools (CRM/ATS platforms like Teamtailor, global HR tools like Deel, project management and communication tools). Proactive & Autonomous: A self-starter who anticipates needs, solves problems independently, and works effectively without being micromanaged. Empathetic & Collaborative: Excellent interpersonal skills with deep respect for a culture powered by dedicated volunteers and early-career placement staff.
