Community First supports people, places and communities across Wiltshire and
Swindon. We are seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board
of Trustees. Trustees play a vital role in providing leadership, governance and
strategic direction, helping to ensure Community First continues to achieve its
charitable objectives and deliver positive outcomes for communities.

about the role:
As a Trustee, you will help shape the future of the organisation, support
innovation and growth and oversee the effective stewardship of resources while
acting in the best interests of the charity.
• Contribute to the strategic leadership and direction of Community First.
• Ensure the charity complies with its governing document, charity law, company
law and relevant regulations.
• Monitor organisational performance against agreed objectives and targets.
• Safeguard the charity’s reputation, values and assets.
• Support the Chief Executive and leadership team in developing strategy and
policy.
• Ensure effective governance, financial stability and sound administration.
• Participate in Board discussions and decision-making.
• Provide strategic oversight in areas aligned to your skills, experience and
interests.
We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds, experiences and
perspectives. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with
experience in business, the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE)
sector and fundraising.
Trustees are expected to attend at least four of six Board meetings each year,
together with the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Additional time is required for
meeting preparation.

experience. You will join a dedicated Board helping to strengthen community
resilience, support vulnerable people and shape the future of a respected local
charity.
