As a Mobile Engineer (PPM) based in Reading and the surrounding areas, you'll travel between client sites carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and/or electrical building services. You'll also respond to reactive maintenance issues to ensure buildings remain safe, compliant, and operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules and service level agreements (SLAs).
Diagnose faults and complete reactive maintenance when required.
Maintain mechanical and/or electrical building services to a high standard.
Update CAFM systems and electronic maintenance records accurately.
Follow Health & Safety procedures, including RAMS.
Identify defects, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Complete minor repairs and general building fabric maintenance.
Build positive working relationships with clients, site teams, and subcontractors.
Ensure company tools, equipment, and assets are well maintained.
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in PPM or building maintenance.
Good knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical building services (M&E/HVAC).
City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent engineering qualification.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Experience using CAFM or mobile maintenance software.
Full UK driving licence.
Ability to work independently across multiple client sites.
Desirable Qualifications
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (for electrically biased engineers).
F-Gas qualification (for HVAC-biased engineers).
Experience in commercial facilities management across sectors such as offices, retail, healthcare, or industrial sites.
