Job Description: Job Title Platform as a Service (PaaS) Splunk Operations Location London Corporate Title Assistant Vice President Our goal is to build & offer simple self-service shared platforms for clients to consume and in turn run their own business applications on. We’ll use a combination of open source and vendor technologies coupled with on premise services where appropriate and use automation for efficiency and accuracy. This role is for Scribe (Splunk) within PaaS. The Application Platforms mission is to build the commercial, technical, architectural and operational frameworks that will allow Deutsche Bank to operate successfully and securely. PaaS is the strategic application hosting platform of the bank and hosts more than 50% of bank’s workloads. Responsible for the delivery of on-premises Platform as a Service using third party vendor solutions. It will provide on-demand access to technology services needed to build, host and manage bank applications using a variety of infrastructure solutions. Strong knowledge of Linux, Containers, Splunk, technologies is required to fill this role. Analyze Splunk search performance, identify slow searches, and work with application teams to optimize queries and dashboards Respond to and resolve alerts, incidents, and performance bottlenecks related to the Splunk infrastructure in a timely manner Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for Splunk-related issues, collaborating with other infrastructure and application teams Work closely with various vendors and internal teams, to ensure compliance with technology roadmap and security requirements on application, infrastructure, and operating system level Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Splunk architecture, operational procedures, runbooks, and configurations Interface regularly with application teams to understand their evolving logging and monitoring needs and provide solutions Your skills and experience Strong working experience with Splunk A basic understanding of Containerisation Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix operating systems (command-line, scripting, system administration fundamentals).Heads, Deployment Server, License Master, Cluster Master, Heavy/Universal Forwarders Experience with monitoring tools and methodologies (e.g., ITSI, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana) Strong experience in operations/infrastructure support model with good troubleshooting capability Good communication skills to collaborate with engineering and application teams across different stage Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs How we’ll support you Training and development to help you excel in your career Flexible working to assist you balance your personal priorities A culture of continuous learning to aid progression A range of flexible benefits that you can tailor to suit your needs About us Deutsche Bank is the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network.
