About AXA: AXA is a global leader in insurance and financial services, dedicated to helping customers protect what matters most to them. As the sixth-largest insurance company in the world, we provide a wide range of services, including health, car, home, and business insurance. We support millions of customers worldwide, helping them navigate life's uncertainties with confidence. AXA UK Support Functions look after our three customer-facing business units, providing the infrastructure and expertise to make sure we can be there for our customers. Job overview: We’re looking for an enthusiastic AI Lead to take the reins as the product owner for our Agentic AI delivery and AI innovation capabilities. You'll be the vital link between our business stakeholders and technical teams, translating ambitious ideas into practical solutions that make a real difference. As the bridge between business demand, technical delivery teams and governance, you’ll make sure the right things get built, in the right order, to the right standard of quality, risk and compliance. As the portfolio expands into new domains, you’ll play a key role in scaling our delivery model with it. If you enjoy shaping the future of AI and fostering collaboration across diverse teams, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. Key responsibilities: Own the full UK&I AI, GenAI and Automation portfolio by turning business needs into a clear, prioritised plan that balances value, feasibility, risk, dependencies, and capacity. Lead multiple projects from initial concept and proof of value through to deployment, adoption, and scaling, ensuring smooth delivery and resolving issues proactively. Collaborate with business teams, product owners, data scientists, engineers, and architects to develop suitable solutions, ensuring the right AI or automation techniques are used for each case. Ensure GenAI and agentic solutions are production-ready, with robust data, testing, monitoring, and controls for safety, quality, cost, and human oversight. Implement transparent processes for project intake, prioritisation, and stage gates, embedding responsible AI, governance, privacy, security, and compliance from the start. Define clear benefits and success measures for each project, hold teams accountable for outcomes, and report progress to senior leaders. Act as a trusted partner across different business areas, managing expectations and driving adoption through effective communication, training, and change management. Continually improve the operating model, standards, tools, and skills within the team, while managing vendors and staying updated on emerging AI trends to maintain a competitive edge. Work arrangements: At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) from December 20 26. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. Your skills & experience: Previous experience in an AI and product management role. Demonstrable success in managing AI and ML use cases that deliver measurable business value throughout the entire delivery lifecycle, from ideation to scaling. Technical expertise in AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG/CAG, SLMs, distillation models, and Agentic AI architectures. Leadership ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams at various levels within AXA. In-depth knowledge of the Insurance sector, understanding key value areas, pain points, and the existing data landscape. Strategic thinker with future-focused insights to ensure AXA’s AI ambitions remain relevant and innovative. Ability to craft compelling narratives for senior leadership and stakeholders. Passionate about AI, with a commitment to mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of innovation.
