We are looking for compassionate, resilient and committed Night Residential
Children's Practitioners to join our Children with Disabilities Residential
Service. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide high-quality
overnight care and support to children and young people with a range of
disabilities, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable and supported throughout the
night.
About the Role
As a Night Residential Children's Practitioner, you will:
• Provide overnight supervision, care and support for children and young people
with disabilities.
• Create a safe, stable and nurturing environment where children can feel
secure and valued.
• Support with personal and intimate care, including washing, dressing,
toileting, feeding, medication administration and moving and handling where
required.
• Monitor wellbeing during the night and respond appropriately to health,
emotional or behavioural needs.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and incident logs.
• Contribute to care plans and risk assessments, ensuring each child's
individual needs are met.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and professionals
involved in their care.
• Act as a positive role model, promoting independence, confidence and life
skills
About You
We're looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with children, young people or individuals with
additional needs.
• Understands safeguarding and putting children at the centre of everything
they do.
• Has excellent communication, listening and observational skills.
• Can remain calm, professional and responsive in challenging situations.
• Is able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Has good literacy, digital and record-keeping skills, including experience
with Microsoft Office and the ability to use business systems effectively.
• Holds an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

Important Information
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and will involve working with
children and young people with complex needs. Successful candidates must be
prepared to work night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays as part of a
rota. Although this is predominantly a night post you may be asked to cover
either day or night shifts and sometimes be required to sleep in and attend
training that will be during the day.
