Be part of a dynamic team that makes a difference
At East Suffolk Services, we proudly deliver a wide range of essential local
services that support the lives of over a quarter of a million residents and
thousands of businesses across our district. We're a growing organisation with
a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services across East Suffolk. As
part of our Facilities Management team, you'll play an important role in helping
to maintain safe, clean and welcoming play areas for local communities to enjoy.
This is an important role with an opportunity to make a visible difference every
day by helping to keep children's play areas clean, safe and in excellent
condition.
Your role
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated individual to join our
Facilities Management team as Play Area Cleaning and Maintenance Operative.
Working across a portfolio of play areas owned by East Suffolk Council and local
Town and Parish Councils, you'll primarily work as part of a team carrying out
cleaning and basic maintenance of play equipment and play areas.
You will:
* keep play areas clean, safe and well maintained through routine cleaning and
general upkeep
* carry out basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs to play equipment and
site facilities
* undertake some minor grounds maintenance activities such as raking, grass
cutting, litter picking and site tidying
* assist with play area inspections and support repair and improvement projects
* use a smartphone or tablet to record work completed and report any issues
* work safely and professionally while maintaining tools, equipment and
vehicles.
We're looking for someone who:
* enjoys practical, hands-on work and is confident carrying out basic
maintenance tasks
* is reliable, proactive and willing to turn their hand to a variety of jobs
* can work both independently and as part of a team
* is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
* has a good understanding of health and safety and can use digital devices for
recording work
* holds a full UK driving licence.
Experience in cleaning, caretaking, grounds maintenance, facilities or a similar
practical role would be beneficial, but formal maintenance experience is not
essential. We're keen to hear from people who are practical, willing to learn
and take pride in keeping community spaces clean, safe and well maintained.
