Building Services Technician
Severnside
Permanent contract: Monday-Friday 7am - 3pm
The primary role of a Facilities Technician is to optimise property conditions,
service and standards whilst keeping a safe working environment for all on
site. The Facilities Technician will maintain a high level of quality, providing
maximum satisfaction to all stakeholders, providing 1st fix response to fault
finding with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and decorating skills.
Key responsibilities:
• Carry out repairs and reactive maintenance
• Responsible for monitoring and recording Data on Facilities equipment,
including Boilers, Air Compressors and Cooling Equipment.
• Assist in Site Compliance, including Contractor Control, PTW, Insurance
Inspections, Legionella.
• Carry out repairs to the fabric of a building, for example repairs to walls,
doors, door frames, skirting boards or plaster damage to internal walls
• Understand and maintain plumbing and drainage systems, for example repairs to
WC systems, leaking taps or water testing and unblocking drains
• Maintain high levels of water hygiene within a building
• Basic electrical competencies, for example replacing damaged sockets, plugs,
lighting and fuses.
• Demonstrate and implement energy, environment and sustainable practices
• Maintain grounds and external fabrication of a building, such as drainage and
guttering
• The safe use of hand tools, for example screwdrivers, power drills, pliers,
paper strippers and a variety other tools used in plumbing and carpentry
• Demonstrate and understand the importance of the control of resources and
stock
• Understand and demonstrate the principles of Planned Preventative Maintenance
• Prepare for refurbishment or deep clean of equipment and surfaces
• Support and prepare any office moves or individual requirements
• Support the quality team in completing any low level pest proofing
requirements
Skills and Experience required to be a Facilities Technician at Muller:
• NVQ in Plumbing – ideal
• General building competencies such as electrical, carpentry, painting and
decorating
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communicator
