We are a small, friendly rural primary school just outside Uckfield, with
wonderful children who are full of enthusiasm and a dedicated team of staff who
are passionate about helping every child thrive.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable After School Club
Coordinator to join our school and become part of the wider Bluebell Federation
team.
Our After School Club provides children with a happy, welcoming and relaxed
environment at the end of their school day. We are looking for someone who will
enjoy getting to know our children and families and who can create a safe and
fun environment where children can play, relax, socialise and take part in a
range of activities.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of
our After School Club and will:
• Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.
• Ensure that individual children's needs are understood and supported.
• Plan and provide a range of fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities.
• Provide opportunities for children to play, be creative, spend time outdoors
and relax after their school day.
• Encourage positive friendships, independence and confidence through play.
• Prepare and organise activities, equipment and resources for the club.
• Prepare and serve appropriate snacks and refreshments.
• Promote positive behaviour and respond calmly and appropriately to any
concerns or incidents.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and school staff.
• Communicate confidently and professionally with families when children are
collected.
• Ensure high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and
supervision are maintained at all times.
• Follow the school's procedures relating to allergies, medical needs and
dietary requirements.
• Respond appropriately to illness or injury and administer first aid where
required; full training will be provided.
• Ensure equipment and resources are safe, appropriate and well maintained.
• Follow all relevant school policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Work closely with the Head of School and wider school team to ensure the club
continues to meet the needs of our children and families.
We are looking for someone who:
• Is caring, positive and genuinely enjoys working with children.
• Is reliable, organised and able to use their own initiative.
• Has good judgement and a calm, practical approach.
• Can confidently take responsibility for the smooth running of the club.
• Is creative and can bring ideas for activities that children will enjoy.
• Understands the importance of safeguarding and providing a safe environment
for children.
• Can communicate effectively with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
• Will bring enthusiasm, ideas and energy to the role.
Experience of working with children would be an advantage, but just as
importantly, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, enthusiasm and
commitment to our children.
What we can offer:
• A small, welcoming school with a strong sense of community.
• Friendly and supportive colleagues who work together as a team.
• Wonderful children who are enthusiastic, curious and keen to play, create and
have fun.
• A supportive leadership team who value their staff and want everyone to feel
happy, valued and fulfilled in their role.
• Training and support to help you develop within the role.
• The opportunity to bring your own ideas and creativity to the club and help
shape the activities and experiences we offer.
• The opportunity to become part of the Bluebell Federation, where our schools
work together so that every child can blossom academically and emotionally
within a nurturing environment rooted in love and kindness.
If you are a caring, proactive and committed person who would enjoy helping our
children finish their school day in a happy, safe and enjoyable environment, we
would love to hear from you
