We’re looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Fowler Welch team in Westerleigh • Bristol, supporting our Meat Processing and packaging operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK. This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC, Farms and Packhouse deliveries. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day. Shift Patterns- Monday to Friday 05:00 Starts Salary- From £13.43 - £22.83 per hour depending on shift times. Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygiene Maintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport department Effectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure Responsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checks Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the business Any other duties as reasonably required Qualifications You should hold a valid C+E Licence Previous Class 1 Driving Experience is advantageous however we will consider New Pass Drivers No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions. Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards. Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation. Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly. Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements. Excellent communication skills.
