About the role
The National Parks and Wildlife Service Hunter Central Coast Branch is seeking a
Spatial Data Officer (SDO) to provide specialist GIS services to support a range
of land management and conservation initiatives.
As the SDO, you'll lead diverse spatial data projects, from analysis and system

data capture and storage.
About You
You will have expertise in using ESRI desktop mapping applications (ArcMap
and/or ArcGIS Pro) and be able to use systems to answer questions related to
land management. You will understand GIS data management, especially in spatial
data and metadata standards.
Working with others to identify and rollout system updates is a key requirement
of this role, so
you will have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills,
with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of
stakeholders.
You will be able to handle multiple task threads at the same time, as well as
being able to work to tight deadlines.
Essential requirements
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications relevant to the discipline or equivalent
experience
• Sound knowledge of GIS theory and how it is applied in an environmental
management agency.
• Demonstrated advanced skills and experience with both raster and vector-based
GIS, including ESRI products and an understanding of GIS modelling
techniques.
• Experience in data management principles within a geodatabase, including
schema development and management, building models and scripts to help manage
data in accordance with defined standards
• Current Australian drivers licence and willingness to fly in light aircraft.
