Construction Manager
Packington / Measham
An opportunity has arisen for a Construction Manager to join the team at
Galliford Try working on the Severn Trent AMP 8 Framework. This role will focus
on the £110m River Mease project which involves Pipeworks, Treatment Plant
upgrade and more.
As a Construction Manager you will provide leadership for construction phase
activities within the Project Teams promoting health, safety, environmental and
construction best practice.
What you will be doing:
• Functional management of teams during the construction phase of the project.
• Co-ordination of constructability input during preliminary design phase.
• Planning, co-ordination and allocation of construction staff ensuring the
most efficient and effective use of the resources.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Site Team and HR teams to ensure that the
construction resource pool is developed to satisfy the identified
requirements of the portfolio of projects.
• Overall Management of construction resources including labour, plant and
material.
• Performance and relationship management of subcontractors.
• Identify discipline specific technical issues and feedback to the detail
design team for resolution.
• Ensure that the construction teams are accountable for their performance
against agreed schedules and man hour budgets.
• Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with
Health and Safety Legislation.
• Ensure that all temporary and permanent construction activities are carried
out in accordance with the contract specific quality plan.
• Recognise that Health and Safety considerations are central to all tasks and
contribute to ensuring safe working. environment for all. Ensure safety is
the priority for all activities.
About you:
• Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company
health and safety policy and procedures
• Promote a positive safety, quality and FREDIE culture.
• Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values
• Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration
• Proven experience in successfully managing multiple teams contributing to
their professional development.
• First class project management capabilities able to showcase a track record
of delivering to client’s expectations.
• Able to demonstrate relevant managerial and/or technical experience at a
senior level.
• Desirable: Member of a relevant Professional Body and/or relevant
qualification i.e. HND/Degree Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant CSCS card.
• Fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packages
