JOB ROLE We’re currently recruiting an Employment Specialist to join our dedicated Connect to Work team. This role forms part of a specialist programme designed to support individuals with disabilities and/or health conditions into sustainable paid employment. As an Employment Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in helping participants achieve their employment goals. Working primarily with individuals who have health-related support needs, you’ll identify suitable job opportunities and provide tailored guidance to help them secure long-term, meaningful employment. Using a person-centred approach, you’ll offer bespoke advice and support to each client, while also developing strong relationships with referral partners and local employers. Your ability to engage with stakeholders and understand individual needs will be key to enabling successful employment outcomes. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a strong understanding of the local labour market in the relevant geographical areas, along with proven experience supporting individuals with multiple and complex needs—particularly those with learning disabilities. Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm Closing Date: 04 September 2026 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage a caseload of customers with disabilities and/or health support needs, providing tailored support to overcome barriers to employment. • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand individual circumstances, strengths, and employment goals. • Develop and regularly review personalised SMART Action Plans to support progression into sustainable employment. • Build effective relationships with local specialist services and partner agencies to provide holistic customer support.Use social prescribing and community resources to improve wellbeing, confidence, and work readiness. • Develop employer relationships, identify suitable vacancies, and match customers to employment opportunities. • Provide tailored in-work support to customers and employers to promote successful job outcomes and job retention. • Meet and exceed performance, quality, compliance, and customer service standards while maintaining accurate records. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Strong understanding of the local labour market and employment opportunities within the designated geographical area. • Experience supporting individuals with complex barriers, particularly those with learning disabilities. • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications and digital collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Teams. • Proven ability to work within a performance-focused environment and achieve agreed objectives. • Experience delivering high-quality services in line with contract requirements, compliance expectations, and quality standards. DESIRABLE • Knowledge of the employability sector and/or recruitment practices. • Understanding of supported employment approaches and frameworks, including IPS and SEQF. • Experience providing advice, guidance, and person-centred support. • Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel across the region as required.
