Job Description Installer – Glasgow Location: Glasgow Reporting to: Service Delivery Manager Business Division: SWARCO UK & Ireland We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Installer to join our team in Glasgow. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play an important part in installing, refurbishing, repairing and commissioning traffic signals and urban traffic technology across customer sites. If you have experience working on traffic signal installations or similar electrical infrastructure, and enjoy working outdoors, solving problems and seeing projects through from installation to completion, this could be the opportunity for you. What you will do As an Installer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality installation and commissioning work, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to customer requirements. You’ll take ownership of your work on site, working closely with colleagues and project teams to ensure installations are completed to a high standard and handed over professionally. Your role will include: Installing and commissioning traffic signals and urban traffic technology Delivering installation projects safely, on time and to the required quality standards Taking ownership of your work on site and ensuring a professional customer handover Working with project teams to identify and report any changes to project scope Ensuring all work is carried out in line with SWARCO's Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) requirements Completing worksheets, timesheets and project documentation accurately and on time Ensuring vehicles, tools, equipment and PPE are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition Working in accordance with project requirements, customer specifications and agreed methods of work Representing SWARCO professionally when working with customers and other stakeholders Qualifications Essential GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent Basic electrical knowledge Basic understanding of traffic signal installation and theory, including phases, stages and detection Mechanical aptitude Good safety awareness Safe manual handling skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proactive approach with good attention to detail Full UK driving licence Right to live and work in the UK Desirable Previous experience working on traffic signal installations or similar electrical infrastructure Good understanding of traffic signal installations and associated equipment Sector 8 accreditation, including relevant NRSWA, G39 and ECS qualifications Experience working within the highways, ITS, electrical or related infrastructure sectors Additional Information What we offer At SWARCO, we want our people to feel supported, valued and able to develop their careers.
