Job Description
At EDF, Success is Personal. As our Digital and AI Communications Manager, you'll help shape how key audiences discover, understand and engage with our business. Combining digital expertise, strategic leadership and practical AI application, you'll play a central role in strengthening EDF's corporate communications and reputation.
Working across our customers, nuclear, renewables and careers businesses, you'll ensure our digital channels, content and campaigns remain effective, discoverable and aligned to EDF's communications priorities. You'll help us respond to changing audience behaviours and create smarter ways of delivering impactful communications.
The Opportunity
At EDF, we're helping deliver An Electric Britain and leading the transition to a low-carbon future. We're proud to offer flexibility through hybrid working. This role supports flexible working arrangements and requires the ability to work from an EDF office for at least two days a week.
As the digital communications subject matter expert within our Content, Digital and Brand Identity team - a centre of excellence for high-impact content creation and distribution - you'll influence senior stakeholders, shape digital communications strategy and help ensure our content remains visible and effective in an increasingly AI-powered search environment.
You'll work across owned, paid and earned channels to raise awareness of EDF's purpose, strategy, solutions and services with a focus on reputation, advocacy and stakeholder engagement rather than sales or lead generation. You'll also:
Act as a trusted adviser to business leaders and communications teams across EDF’s non-Retail areas, helping strengthen digital channels, content discoverability and audience engagement
Work closely with the Head of Content, Digital and Brand Identity to help shape and deliver digital communications strategies and corporate campaigns
Lead Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), accessibility and AI discoverability improvements across corporate digital platforms and websites
Own and coordinate content on EDF's companywide webpages on edfenergy.com, including management of the homepage
Oversee paid and organic digital campaigns across social media and web
Analyse channel performance and provide actionable insights to improve reach and engagement
Line manage the Digital Corporate Communications Lead and support integrated campaign delivery across multiple channels
Provide training and guidance on digital best practice, AI tools and content optimisation
Coordinate digital governance activities and meetings and help drive consistency across the business
Innovate with emerging technologies and AI-enabled approaches to improve efficiency and performance
Conduct regular competitor benchmarking and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Deliver complex digital initiatives, including website audits, enhancements and migrations
Who You Are
We're looking for a digital communications professional who combines strategic thinking, stakeholder influence and hands-on delivery experience. To be successful in this role, you'll have:
Proven experience in digital communications, with a strong track record of managing corporate digital channels and content
Strong understanding of SEO, digital analytics and emerging AI search behaviours, including the impact of LLMs on content discoverability
Experience using content management systems such as Drupal, WordPress or Sanity and analytics platforms including Google Analytics, Google Trends, Looker Studio and Search Console
Experience managing and optimising paid digital and social campaigns across LinkedIn, YouTube, Meta, programmatic and display
Demonstrable ability to translate digital trends, including AI developments, into practical recommendations and plans
Excellent communication, copywriting and stakeholder management skills
Strong project management skills with experience delivering complex digital projects such as website migrations
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence at all levels
High attention to detail, with the judgement to manage brand, regulatory and reputational considerations in a corporate communications environment
Desirable
Knowledge of the UK energy sector or experience working in a complex, regulated industry
Experience with AI-powered content creation and optimisation tools
Understanding of brand governance and visual identity in a corporate context
Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements for digital content, for example ASA guidelines
Pay, Benefits and Culture
At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and supportive workplace where people can thrive, develop and be themselves.
We offer a competitive salary starting at £54,960, a market-leading pension scheme, flexible benefits and rewarding career opportunities. You'll join a collaborative team where innovation, continuous improvement and personal development are encouraged.
If you're passionate about digital communications, using AI to improve content discovery, performance and ways of working, and helping shape the future of corporate communications at one of the UK's leading energy companies, we'd love to hear from you.
