Here at GXO, we're looking for a Shift Manager to lead our warehouse operations at our Bridgwater site, ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellence every day.
At Hinkley Point C, we're building two new nuclear reactors - the first in a new generation of power stations delivering zero-carbon electricity to six million homes. As a Tier One partner to Nuclear New Build (NNB), we provide essential warehousing and transportation services.
This is a full-time permanent position. You'll be working Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts between the hours of 06:00 to 18:00. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!
What you'll do on a typical day:
• Lead and manage shift teams, ensuring a safe and productive working environment• Deliver clear, engaging shift briefings to align teams with daily priorities• Oversee inventory control using WMS, scan guns, and tablets for accuracy• Maintain and update payroll systems (Oracle/Kronos) promptly and correctly• Collate and present operational data to senior management and clients
Requirements:
• Previous experience in warehouse operations and line management• Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and mentor teams• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft applications• A safety-first mindset and ability to drive operational excellence• CITB MAPS certification and a valid driving licence (desirable)
