As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will join our team supporting service users in their homes in Epsom, Surrey. We specialise in providing person-centred care for adults with a forensic mental health background, challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and autism to enable them to play a meaningful role within their community. You will be responsible for the delivery of outstanding care to the people we support. Our flagship supported living service on Reigate Road is an 8-minute walk from Ewell East train station and has on-site parking. Experience with working with people with mental health issues, autism, challenging behaviours and learning disabilities Experience of using restraint techniques or willingness to be trained to use restraint techniques Ability to confidently work alone whilst being part of a wider team Strong ethical values and a person-centred approach Flexibility & ability to work shifts to meet the needs of the service Enthusiasm, resilience, confidence, high-energy and a proactive approach to providing exceptional person-centred support & overcoming challenges An interest in biking, fishing & swimming and ability to accompany the person they will be supporting in their leisure pursuits Enthusiastic and a creative approach to provide the best person-centred support possible A commitment to personal and professional development Resilience and drive to overcome challenges The ability to understand and demonstrate empathy for the people you are supporting Be passionate about supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism Be prepared to work with people who present with challenging behaviour and in some cases risky behaviours Be energetic, active, confident and fun!
